It is 11 pm and I will be up at 5 to do a morning radio show at the Shepherdstown University radio station. I’m staying at the home of John Case, a retired union organizer and host of the show I will be on.
I made a mistake about her reading. It is at the Mount Pleasant Public Library (3160 16th St., NW, Washington, D.C.) Wednesday, February 27th, 2013, 6:30 pm – 8 pm. Please join me there. You will not be disappointed!
I was on David Calef’s radio show tonight and we talked about the Radical Rightwing Republicans in the House of Representatives still holding up federal disaster relief to our fellow Americans in New Jersey and New York. This is way beyond the pale. For the House Republican majority to refuse assistance to the victims of superstorm Sandy is sickening cynicism of dangerously rightwing ideology. They would rather follow the dangerous anti-democratic, misogynistic, atheist Ayn Rand than the American principle expressed by Bruce Springsteen–“We take care of our own. ”
We take care of our own. I am my sister’s keeper. The last shall be first. Whatsoever you have done unto the least of these, you have done unto me. Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Faith without works is dead.
We take care of our own. Solidarity Forever. Words have power when they represent action.
