The price of Kleenex has shot up with all the Republicans crying about how mean Joe Biden was to little Paul. All the sudden the P90X body was not enough to protect him in the debate.
Joe Biden demanded the truth and he made sure the truth and the facts were spoken – even if it meant cutting off Ryan in the midst of his lying and dissembling.
Joe fought for us and for our people in that debate, as he’s been doing his entire public life.
It is no small thing that Biden got the truth out about what R+R want to do to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
It is no small thing that Ryan’s ugly hypocrisy about the stimulus is coming out.
What continues to amaze me is that Romney gets away with this image of a moral and good man when he cannot tell the truth from a lie, when American jobs continue to be sent to China for his benefit, when he wants to destroy the lies of seniors and workers, when he wants another war in the Middle East, when he wants to give the healthcare industry back to the insurance companies, and widen the yawning canyon of inequality.
This election is yours and mine to win. No more whining or hand-wringing. We need work and faith – both of which we decide to do or not. As Paul said about 2000 years ago, faith without deeds is dead. Time to rock this thing on home.
Oh – and get my book Playing Bigger Than You Are: A Life in Organizing if you don’t already have it.
