Ryan Down in the Polls
Paul Ryan is already sinking in the polls. He voted with then President George Bush for some of the most expensive proposals in history. In no polls does Ryan have a plus 50 percent favorable rating.
Ryan has wanted it both ways.
Now Ryan casts himself as a budget cutter. Ryan wants to lower taxes for the rich while cutting and privatizing Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Meanwhile, Romney refuses to accept and endorse the Paul Ryan budget plan – supposedly Ryan’s signature program and reason for Romney to pick Ryan as his running mate.
It now seems certain, because Romney has so muddled his positions, that the Republican team will run on voucherizing, cutting, and privatizing Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security and continuing to assault collective bargaining.
After watching the love fest between union bashing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Paul Ryan, it is abundantly clear that Ryan would do all he could nationally to do the labor movement what Walker did in Wisconsin.
