Republican Doubts

Florida’s Senator Marco Rubio introduced Romney Thursday night not by talking about Romney, but by talking about himself.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was heard to openly doubt Romney’s chances to win.

Clint Eastwood spoke right before Romney, seemingly without a teleprompter – or even a script – fumbling through his prime speaking spot like the aging and fading actor he is. Eastwood was pathetic and disrespectful to the Presidency of the United States. For those of us who’ve had to deal with senior dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease Eastwood’s performance was painful.

When Romney took the stage finally, he spoke in platitudes and tried to convince us he lifted himself by his own bootstraps ala an Ayn Rand hero EVEN THOUGH HIS FATHER OWNED A CAR COMPANY AND WAS GOVERNOR OF MICHIGAN.

No, Mitt, you are not a self-made man. You are a creature of vulture capitalism and privilege, a flip-flopper with no core values who has changed his position more times than he has changed his socks.

One of the most amazing facts of the Romney campaign is the use of Wisconsin union-bashing, worker-hating Governor Scott Walker as a key Romney surrogate. Do WE need to know any more about who Romney is–a creature of privilege who’s made several jillion dollars and do anything possible to become president.

Let’s be clear, Romney, like George W. Bush, would govern for the wealthy, destroying even more workers’ rights, health and safety, lowering our take home pay and quality of life and standard of living.

We gotta beat this guy. Please get a copy of Playing Bigger Than You Are: A Life in Organizing to make you the best possible organizer for this election. And check out two more great reviews of the book by John Case and Scott Marshall.

We will win in November if we do our work. We gotta have a wave on the ground just overwhelming the Forces of Privilege and the Radical Rightwing!
