Republican Dysfunction

Never before in my memory, in my reading of American history, nor my experience in politics have I ever seen or even imagined how dysfunctional a major American political party has been as this Republican party and Mitt Romney’s campaign.

Their own incompetence would endanger the security and health of the United States. They can’t even keep their lies straight.

Romney made a habit at Bain Capital when he was CEO of buying firms and offshoring work, stealing jobs from Americans, destroying families and communities. Romney and Bain Capital did it with impunity, regularity, and with no compunction. These anti-American financial shenanigans played a key role in destroying the manufacturing base of America.

Please remember that the Romney campaign had at least six years to deal with this dysfunction, and try to explain it. Instead, in a political move worthy of The Three Stooges, the Romney campaign actually said Romney retroactively retired from Bain Capital pretending like he had nothing to do with the destruction of American jobs, families, and communities.

What an unbelievable political fantasy. It is impossible to believe sane, political operatives and a sane candidate would engage in such a political fantasy.

Romney is not just wrong, he is crazy.

Again, with at least six years to prepare for this election, remember he ran against McCain, and presumably spent two years preparing for the biggest challenge of his life.

But even with all that time, Romney couldn’t figure out why he hid his wealth in Swiss bank accounts, the Cayman Islands, and other nations that are popular for hiding money.

Obviously, Romney wants to hide his fast wealth – the kind of wealth that is incomprehensible to average Americans.

More importantly Romney is hiding money to avoid paying American taxes on it.

What kind of patriot hides his taxes from his nation, and how can we elect a non-patriot?

Mitt Romney has disqualified himself from the sacred office of the President of the United States.
