Build platform bed DIY with cut wood to size. Measuring the thickness of the head and foot boards and subtracting amounts to be sure of a good fit – usually the thickness will be 1 1/2 inches each). You also need two pieces of plywood that is 37 inches by 45 inches. Sand to remove any tiles, then wipe with a slightly damp cloth to remove the dust. Bunch a rectangle of 2x12s for the base. Place the 64 inch long boards at the head and foot of the bed, and the 84-inch discs on the sides. Pre-drill holes at the end of the boards so you can join the ends of boards to make a rectangle with the boards sitting on their 2-inch wide edges.

Place the two boards at right angles and make sure that the ends are flush for platform bed DIY. Use a drill and a 1/4 inch drill and place a hole three inches from the top of the board, and three inches from the bottom of the board.  Run bolts in the holes you drilled, using the sleeve and latch or a socket on the drill, to screw the two boards at right angles to form a corner of the base of the bed. Place 61-inch 2x12s within the frame that runs from the bed’s bed to the foot of the bed, evenly distributed. Secure these 2×12 boards with angles and 1-inch wooden screws. For maximum stability, place two angle brackets in each corner where two boards meet. Place one of the two angle brackets one third of the way from the top, and place the other bracket one third of the road from the bottom so that they are spaced evenly. Attach all angles. This forms the base of the platform bed. This base will be covered in plywood. The plywood piece on top will hang make the platform.
