After the Demo
Written by Stewart Acuff
On the train home after the demo
The demo in Philly against fracking
Great crowd, inspiring speakers
Spirit moved through us all
Connecting us in that deep place
For each of us below the neck,
Above the legs
Where the spirit moves in us individually
And among us collectively
We rallied in front of the fracking conference
Impossible to miss
Testifying to cancer, sick children, chemicals
In the water wasted by greed, unfettered
Capitalism, the invisible hand destroying the
Only home the Almighty ever gave us.
