A new poem by Stewart Acuff: Tires on concrete
Written by Stewart Acuff
Tires on concrete in the soft, summer night.
Wake up my travelin’ jones.
Another night tryin’ to sleep.
Can’t stop thinkin’ about goin’
South or West, don’t matter much where.
Just want to go.
Sometimes freedom is a good car, a tank full of gas, and enough money to get you somewhere different.
Sometimes it’s just about the goin’, not about the where.
Travelin’ jones only jones I’ll ever know.
To last as long as lovin’ jones.
Sometimes it’s about the goin’, not about the where.
Tires on concrete in the soft, summer night.
